Every October, a special kind of energy rolls into the shores of San José del Cabo; not just in the waves, but in the people who ride them. The Reina Calafia Surf Fest is much more than a surf competition. It’s a celebration of community, empowerment, culture, and the magic of Baja’s coastline.
From October 24 to 26, Playa La Fortunal transforms into a stage for talented women surfers of all levels, to showcase their skills. Founded to highlight female athletes and promote inclusivity in surf culture, this annual event now welcomes international competitors, local legends, and curious first-timers.

Why Klein Loves It
We see this event as a reflection of what makes Los Cabos truly special, a tight-knit community, a vibrant lifestyle, and an invitation to be part of something meaningful.
Klein Knows Tip: Planning to attend? Head out early and leave before sunset to avoid traffic jams on the Transpeninsular. And if you want to explore the area before or after the event, don’t miss our recent blog about La Fortuna’s Secret Spots—a local favorite just a short drive away.
